Privacy and storage

This tool does not require an account or subscription. Information you enter is stored locally on the device and browser where you add the app. Your entries are not transmitted to us, stored in our database, or accessible by us.

Because we do not receive or store your information, we cannot recover it if it is deleted or lost. Clearing browser data, using private browsing, deleting the app, changing devices, or opening the tool in a different browser may prevent access to previously saved information.

Backups

Use Download app backup in More regularly, and before changing devices, clearing browser data, or deleting the app. Backup files can be saved to your preferred storage service, such as Files, iCloud Drive or Google Drive, and brought back with Restore from backup.

What not to store

This tool is intended for personal organization. Do not use it to store passwords, payment-card details, Social Security numbers, medical records, banking information, or other highly sensitive information.

Devices and features

Printing, saving as PDF, and file sharing depend on the options supported by your device and browser.

Access to the tool requires a compatible device and browser. An internet connection is needed to open the tool the first time and to receive updates. Features and browser behavior may vary by device. The tool is provided as an organizational aid, and users are responsible for maintaining their own backups.

Help & FAQ

My list is empty.

Check that you're opening the app from the Home Screen icon, not the browser. If you switched devices or cleared browser data, restore your latest backup.

How do groups work?

Give each person a group, like “Howard family,” “Grandkids” or “Coworkers.” Recipients are then listed by group, with what you've spent for each. Tap a group's name to fold it away. Use “Edit group” to rename it or set one budget for the whole group, and filter your gift list by group.

Can I give everyone in a group the same gift?

Yes. In Recipients, open the group and tap “Same gift for everyone.” Add the gift once, untick anyone who shouldn't get it, and each person gets their own copy to track separately.

I can't find Add to Home Screen.

Open the link in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, not inside Instagram, Facebook or TikTok.

How do I move my list to a new device?

Download a backup on your old device, then add the app to your new device and use Restore from backup there.

Can I use it for another event?

Yes. Use Start a new event. Download a backup first if you want to keep your current list. The app holds one event at a time. To keep several, download a backup for each event, then use Restore to switch between them.

Does my list sync between devices?

No. Your list stays privately on the device and app where you entered it. Use backup and restore to move it.

What’s the difference between my list and my backup?

Your list (PDF) is for reading, printing and sharing. Your app backup is a safety copy only this app can read, used to restore your list on this or another device.

What happens when I restore a backup?

Restoring replaces everything currently in the app. Download a current backup first if you may want to keep that list.
